Trademark Registration Services: all inclusive, including the filing

The numbers of trademark registration services are many, but they all provide the same basic service. The basic fee for filing an application for a trademark is set at $325 by the USPTO for an electronic application. If the service you have decided to use claims it is more, they are misleading you and another service should be chosen.

The standard lawyer services fee is between $150 and $500. The less that is charged, the less qualified the legal advice is. Remember, trademarks are a special area of law that an attorney has specialized in. On average, one hour of work by an attorney is $200. Any less and the legal work might not be done by an attorney but rather a Para legal. Know the differences and ask the service before making a payment.

Another of the common charges is for the search fee. This is done at the USPTO website for free. But if you decide not to do it yourself, you will have to pay someone to do it for you. There are some services that only charge $150 for this. There are others that have a tiered approach with prices starting at $200, then rising to $400, and the top of the line is $1000 for an in-depth search of the data base. If you are planning on using one of these services, keep in mind that a search must include the entire data base of any possible related item. There is no difference for a small company trademark and a large company trademark. The research companies that claim there is a difference are just trying to squeeze more out of a company because they feel they can pay more.

Choose the company for your trademark registration services wisely and do not get fooled.
